Supreme Court ripping away the right to an abortion, clearing the way for anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination, and standing in the way of student debt cancelation.

Chile, I know you fucking lying!! I can’t even express the amount of frustration I am experiencing. The last time felt compelled to share my thoughts here, it was another trash ass supreme court decision that got me going. What this means is that they effectively ended race-conscious admission programs at colleges and universities across the country while simultaneously guaranteeing generational debt for millions of Americans. Most people in this country seem to agree with the decision but that’s because most of the people in this country are low readers. Let’s face it. The Bush administration left a bunch of mf’s behind. The widespread misconception that affirmative action means unqualified people are admitted into college solely because of their race has never been true and is quite frankly a willfully obtuse interpretation. White women have been the main beneficiaries of affirmative action since it’s inception. I know, our attention spans are about as long as 13 second tiktok video. How can we be expected to understand landmark court decisions when we need a catchy tune and a few moves to make anything make sense? Not enough of yall watched School House Rock and it shows. Unfortunately, what this REALLY means is that it’s easier to discriminate based on race determined in other ways AND that all the POC folks drowning in education debt will never get the help they need. How could it be easier to discriminate when race isn’t provided? Let’s not act like institutions and orgs don’t discriminate based on other identifying markers such as name, age, marital status, education status, and gender.

Let’s note that recently, the Supreme Court allegedly violated Article III of the Constitution by deciding a case based on hypotheticals and a fabricated name. This was in regards to an LGBTQIA+ case where the man says he was never even involved, which means they just set precedent for all following cases based on a lie. The Supreme Court has become a right wing ideological political institution and can’t be trusted to issue fair rulings. Period.

“When the state refuses to concede and enacts policy and laws that curtail your freedom to move without undue burden, autonomy as authority over your body and self, and control over your environment….there is only one solution. And that is NONCOMPLIANCE.” - Dayna Lynn Nuckolls

The white liberal way of performing civility & neutrality is another form of structural violence. It requires us to pretend USA is a functioning democracy. In reality, popular will is always overruled by the white capitalist class & dissent is met by militarized police forces. - Bree Newsome Bass
